Ptolemy II Philadelphus was the Pharaoh of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt from 284 to 246 BCE. He was the son of Ptolemy I, the Macedonian Greek general of Alexander the Great who founded the Ptolemaic Kingdom.Ptolemy II Philadelphus issued this Gold Tetradrachm, 13.76g minted at Alexandria.
The obverse featues Conjoined busts of Ptolemy II and Arsinoe II facing right. The reverse features conjoined busts of Ptolemy I and Berenike I are facing to the right.
